This is Part 1 of my reaction to the KANAMI Documentary, and it gave me a whole new appreciation for the musical mastermind behind BAND-MAID. What blew me away: 🎹 Kanami's years of classical piano training. 🎸 She picked up guitar because people thought guitarists were "cool"... and somehow became one of the best modern rock guitarists on the planet. 🎼 She was already producing and writing original music before BAND-MAID. 👑 She became the FIRST member of BAND-MAID and helped build the band from the ground up. 🤯 Watching her write riffs, hand them to MISA for the bass parts, then program insanely technical drum parts for AKANE was fascinating. 😂 AKANE saying she would need FIVE ARMS to play some of Kanami's original ideas had me cracking up! I loved hearing how they worked together to make those parts challenging but still playable. ✈️ Seeing them write a song on an airplane... then perform it LIVE only three months later... absolutely insane.
