Lansallos Competition 2019 - St Columb's peal

St Columb Major's peal in the (Cornish style) six-bell round-ringing contest at Lansallos in June 2019. This is the traditional format for Cornish ringing contests: rise, rounds and fall. Although the Cornish competition scene has declined a lot in the last 10-15 years, there's still the occasional open ringing match, such as this one on the back 6 of the glorious Taylor ring of eight at Lansallos in south-east Cornwall. It was a very enjoyable afternoon, although a bit sparse in terms of teams present. Our peal shown here won first prize (and the Tom Talling Cup), perhaps helped by the relative lack of teams competing (including the fact that the hosts Lansallos, themselves winners of many competitions, didn't participate on their own bells). Sorry about the poor camera angle, it was filmed with a phone leant against a wall without much thought or planning!
