When you have to let go after 60, it doesn't have to mean giving up. When something you love becomes harder, or no longer possible, it's natural to keep pushing against the change. But fighting the boundary can drain the energy you need to notice the life that's still here. In this video, I share a recent day on a favorite mountain trail that changed how I think about aging, loss, and acceptance. Living with chronic pain has changed what my body can do, and that day brought me face to face with it. What I found on the other side wasn't surrender. It was a more useful question. This isn't really a video about hiking. Maybe travel has changed for you, or holidays, a friendship, your energy, your finances, or your home. If you're facing a life change after 60 and wondering whether letting go means defeat, or what comes next, this conversation is for you. You'll also get one simple thing to try: a way to look underneath what you've lost and find what version of it is still possible in the life you have now. I'm Val, a retired psychology professional, and Second Half Sage is a place for women navigating the emotional changes of the second half of life. Seen. Supported. Still Becoming. To the sage in you.
