Hike to Summerland Meadow, Mount Rainier NP, July 2023 | Mountains, wildflowers, butterflies

Hi friends! Join us for a hike on the east side of Mount Rainier, just past the White River entrance. The Summerland Trail starts right off the park road where there is enough parking for about 30 cars. We really enjoyed hiking through the forest with sounds of the Frying Pan Creek nearby and some occasional views. The trail eventually crosses the creek and follows the drainage up through a hillside of wildflowers. The last half mile before reaching the Summerland Meadow gets pretty steep, but the meadow and close-up views of Mount Rainier are totally worth the effort!
