I went into Darling Harbour expecting to photograph a few wild-looking race cars. What I found was a mix of 1,000+ horsepower builds, genuine Japanese race cars, drift cars shipped in from overseas, defending champions and some of the craziest aero I’ve seen up close. I’d seen World Time Attack advertised before, but I’d never actually been to the event or understood what Time Attack was about. This year we finally got media access, so I brought the camera along and decided to find out. We start in the middle of Sydney with the WTAC media display, get a closer look at the cars and learn why they’re built the way they are, how Time Attack works, where the event came from and which cars are worth following once we get to Sydney Motorsport Park. Featuring Hert’s Twerkstallion RX-7, the CUSCO GT300 Subaru, Bando’s 1,200+ horsepower RSC300, Tanuki Racing, Dream Project, the DuSold and Feras Qartoumy Corvettes, the Rocket Bunny R32, Yuuki Kamakura’s four-rotor RX-7 and the Liberty Walk four-rotor R35 GT-R. This is only the beginning. Next stop: Sydney Motorsport Park. #RaceCars #CarCulture #Sydney #WTAC #WorldTimeAttack #TimeAttack #Motorsport
