Watch Mike Weston perform 'Rowboat Song' live in his home studio ACHQ2 - playing every instrument himself, as he's always done. This is Adult Cinema in its most elemental form: one man, multiple instruments, and the kind of unhurried, immersive songwriting that draws inevitable comparisons to Meddle-era Pink Floyd and the solo work of Steven Wilson. "A winning blend of Meddle-era Pink Floyd, beguiling psych-folk and classic rock riffing. Mike Weston is an accomplished songwriter and musician who deserves a wider audience." — Joe Clay, The Times. Like Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree, Mike wrote, played and recorded all the Adult Cinema material on his own, only occasionally drafting in players for a handful of gigs. This performance captures exactly that spirit. 'Rowboat Song' is taken from 'Teaser Trailer', the album that Mike compiled from recordings from the sessions that made up his debut album - The tracks that didn't make it onto 'This Is Your Life', but that later proved the foundation for his DIY career. --------------- Recorded at ACHQ2, Southend, UK --------------- You can find the special offer for the album 'Teaser Trailer' on vinyl and CD here - https://thisisadultcinema.com/teasert... It was only when tracks from 'This Is Your Life' began cropping up on TV shows all over the world that he considered going back into the studio. The album found its way into the hands of numerous music supervisors and the tracks were being played on TV shows from Brazil to Finland and back to the USA. The new album, 'Hot And Cold', is the first all-new studio album since 'This Is Your Life'. Mike wrote most of the songs when taking a year to travel around Europe and the USA with his wife and young son. The album was then recorded the following year and released on CD and vinyl in 2020.
