Romans 8:28
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
I look back at the roads I took,
The things I wish I could undo,
The nights I thought I'd lost myself,
The years I spent so far from You.
I called them failures, called them scars,
I thought I'd thrown my life away,
But now I see what I couldn't see—
You were calling me by name.
I don't call the darkness good,
I don't call my sin okay,
But You can take what broke my life
And use it for Your grace.
Nothing's wasted in Your hands,
Nothing's lost when I belong to You.
Every broken road I walked,
You can make something new.
I thought my past had buried me,
But Jesus, You came and set me free.
I wouldn't choose the pain I've known,
But You redeemed it all
And brought me home.
There were things I did that hurt,
There were times I chose my way,
I carried every consequence
And thought I'd never change.
But Christ came looking for the lost,
He didn't wait for me to be clean.
He took the sinner I had been
And made a new man out of me.
I don't call the darkness good,
I don't call my sin okay,
But where I thought my story ended,
You made a way.
Nothing's wasted in Your hands,
Nothing's lost when I belong to You.
Every broken road I walked,
You can make something new.
I thought my past had buried me,
But Jesus, You came and set me free.
I wouldn't choose the pain I've known,
But You redeemed it all
And brought me home.
If you're looking at your past tonight,
Thinking there's no way back,
Look at the cross of Jesus Christ—
Grace is stronger than your past.
Your sins can be forgiven,
Your chains can be broken,
The old can pass away.
In Christ there is a new creation,
He can make you new today.
Nothing's wasted in Your hands,
Nothing's lost when I belong to You.
Every broken road I walked,
You can make something new.
I thought my past had buried me,
But Jesus, You came and rescued me.
I wouldn't choose the pain I've known,
But You redeemed it all
And brought me home.
I thought I'd lost my way...
But You were calling me home.
Jesus...
You made me new.
