Wooler URC Livestream - Sunday 14 June 2026

Apologies for (yet more) technical difficulties on our livestream today. This is an upload of most of the service that we were able to record. As we continue to delve into the book of Acts, Fliss will be leading our service this Sunday, and introduces us to another of the prominent people we meet in the narrative - Philip. The first non-Jew to come to faith and baptism in Luke’s great story is a man from Africa. The Ethiopian eunuch, chief finance minister to Queen Candace, possibly once or still a slave. He was a complete outsider to the Jewish system but there was something about the Jewish God that attracted him. Philip was one of the seven deacons appointed to help those in need in the Jerusalem fellowships. Like many followers of Jesus he fled from the persecution that followed the killing of Stephen but he didn’t go into hiding. His ministry expanded as he listened to God and followed the leading of the Spirit. Do join us at 11am in the church building, or anytime online as Fliss considers how the Ethiopian found God in the middle of nowhere. Everyone is welcome at Wooler URC.
