Wooler URC Livestream - Sunday 20 September 2026

This Sunday's service looks at another of Jesus' 'I Am' sayings - 'I am the light of the world'. We're delighted that Lucy Cooke will be joining us once again to lead our worship. In this 'Season of Creation' time, Lucy is linking these words of Jesus to God's work of creation and how we steward it today. Have you seen the film 'Pressure' that's in cinemas at the moment? It's a great movie that is set during the tense 72-hour lead-up to the D-Day invasion, and it explores the immense pressure that meteorologist James Stagg faced in delivering the critical weather forecast that would decide the fate of Allied troops. In the film, Stagg delivers this memorable line: "How can the weather be boring? It feeds us. The weather can destroy us. It controls our daily life. I don't think that's boring." Perhaps we should pay prayerful attention to that statement as we reflect on the Emergency Briefing shown in our church the other week, and our response to the climate crisis. Do join us at 11am in the church building, or anytime online as we worship together. Everyone is welcome at Wooler URC.
