Kathmandu’s Sky Giants & Pocket Planes: TIA Planespotting Extrem

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu is Nepal’s only international gateway, but its single runway has hosted an unusually wide range of aircraft. On the “biggest” end, TIA has recorded landings from wide-body jets like the Boeing 747-400 and Airbus A350, plus heavy military transports such as the Ilyushin Il-76 and the massive Antonov An-124 — most of these appearing during humanitarian relief operations (notably after the 2015 earthquake) rather than as scheduled service.
