We spend our years searching for meaning, building relationships, making promises, and becoming people we never imagined we'd be. And somewhere along the way, we discover that time was never ours to keep. "Strings of Time" is a reflective progressive rock composition about existence, mortality, memory, and the extraordinary uncertainty of being alive. The song explores our need to understand a life that offers no guarantees—and the possibility that, in the end, there may be nothing left to understand. Musically, the composition draws on the expressive traditions of atmospheric and melodic progressive rock. Intimate vocals, Hammond organ, melodic bass, and spacious arrangements gradually give way to an extended instrumental conversation between expressive Stratocaster-style electric guitar and soulful tenor saxophone. Rather than delivering an answer, the music follows the questions. "All we know is we are here / Until we're not." The final passage imagines a journey beyond clocks, years, yesterday, and tomorrow—a release from the strings of time.
