Your phone makes a noise it does not usually make. There is a warning on it, in capital letters, in a colour you do not like. So you buy bread. Far more bread than anybody could eat. And batteries for a torch you have not seen since the day you moved in. Twenty thousand years ago, somebody did exactly the same thing, only with firewood, and he forgot it outside.
