So I took way too long to start reacting to this series. Never did I expect this show to grab me so quickly to the point where I watch 6 episodes back to back on a 3 hour stream LOL. Initial thoughts, I am REALLY interested in Koyuki's backstory. I love how the show gives us bits and pieces and creates a mystery vibe but they also don't show everything in order and from only her perspective which can of course allow for moments of bias. It is clear Koyuki has regrets from being bullied at school and almost has two personas at this point, one that emerged as a direct result of her bullying and as a result she has iced herself off. YOTA IS BEST BOY. Enough said. Miki is hilarious but stupid lol. Lastly best/worst boy Minato. I really was suspicious initially of Minato and he gave me these eerie vibes early on because of his constant poking and prodding questions. I felt he just wanted to use Koyuki but he seems honestly very genuine just broken a bit and doesn't know how to express his own emotions. When Koyuki attacks him I earnestly felt my heart drop because you can see he realizes he is making her uncomfortable, he feels the wall forming and he desperately tries to navigate the conversation a different angle but ultimately it was too late. I'm glad however they were able to fix things and come out stronger from this though! In reality, Koyun is just insecure and prone to overthinking due to her uncomfortable experiences in middle school. However, her chance encounter with two boys in school—Minato Amamiya and Youta Hino—sparks a change in her. Like her friend Miki Azumi, the boys are never afraid to approach Koyun and see her for who she really is. Although Koyun starts spending more time with Miki, Minato, and Youta, she finds herself torn between her newfound bliss and her fear of getting too attached to others. Meanwhile, each of her friends quietly struggles with their own challenges. But as the new friend group continues to navigate high school together, Koyun and the others start to break out of their shells and enjoy their adolescence to the fullest.
