EA Sports NHL '96 - All-star Season 1 Nords Game 62 | The Nordiques Visit the Canadian West Coast

Vancouver, British Columbia was the site of the Nordiques' Game 62. This is the third meeting this season for the 2 teams. The Nordiques have won every game so far including a 7-0 victory in Game 41. The hometown Canucks' fans were looking for better. They were happy to start for sure. Pavel Bure got them out of their seats when he sniped glove-side on a breakaway after only 2 shots on Thibault. Kovalenko tied it up about 6 minutes later when he sent a nice pass from Wendel into the net. With 32.8 seconds left in the 1st period Chris Simon helped Quebec to the lead with a top-blocker-side shot on a pass from Kovalenko. Shots at the break were QUE 12 and VAN 15. The 2nd period was scoreless with good chances for both teams and Quebec taking over the shot lead at QUE 32 and VAN 27 at the break. Joe Sakic made it 3-1 when he went top-glove on a pass from Kovalenko who paid a hard price after the pass. Late in the game Thibault tried for the empty net but missed and Sakic chased the puck down and scored. The final score was 4-1 for the Nordiques. Enjoy!
