What Happens When You Stay With an Idea?

What happens when you stay with an idea — even after you think you've given up on it? A while ago, I became fascinated by cracks, lines and textures I kept noticing in the city. I wanted to bring that feeling into my own work, but my first attempts at drawing what I was seeing simply didn't work. So I put the idea aside. But I kept making. Months later, while experimenting with packaging, layers and Gelli Plate printing, I realized that the idea hadn't really disappeared. It had simply found another way into my work. Looking back at my 100-Day Project, I can see how some ideas need time to develop before we understand where they're taking us. Sometimes you don't need to know how to make an idea work.
