Eleven men flew in every B-29 Superfortress. This video ranks all eleven positions, from the safest seat in the aircraft to the deadliest, using the crew manuals, training films and the stories of the men who flew them: Paul Tibbets, Theodore Van Kirk, Henry 'Red' Erwin and the tail gunners who sat alone at the back.
Which seat would you have taken? Tell us in the comments.
