Hello everyone! In today's video, I'm sharing an easy, authentic, and budget-friendly traditional sweet recipe: Panasa Thonalu / Sampangi Puvvulu.
With just a few kitchen staples, you can make these perfectly layered, crisp, and syrupy delights without absorbing excess oil. They make a great treat for festivals, special occasions, or as a quick snack for kids. Watch the video for step-by-step tips to achieve that perfect crunch and glossy sugar glaze!
📋 Ingredients:
Maida (All-Purpose Flour): 1 cup
Hot Oil (Moyen): 1½ tsp
Salt: ½ tsp
Sugar: 1 cup
Water: ½ cup
Oil: For deep frying
💡 Pro Tips for Perfect Results:
Crispy Layers: Rubbing hot oil thoroughly into the flour before adding water ensures light, flaky, and crispy layers.
Sugar Syrup Consistency: Cook the syrup until it reaches a light single-string (theega paakam) consistency so the syrup glazes nicely without turning rock hard.
Soaking Time: Dip the freshly fried thonalu in the warm syrup for just about 1 minute and remove promptly to retain their crispness.
