Nocturne Trailer Explained: Scarier Than Hannibal Lecter?

Nocturne is Apple TV's new crime series, based on The Sandman and Lazarus by Lars Kepler. Stephen Graham plays Jurek Walter, Liev Schreiber is Jonah Lynn and Zazie Beetz is Saga Bauer. It premieres on Friday, October 30, 2026, with two episodes, and after that a new one lands every Friday through December 25. Everyone compares Jurek to Hannibal Lecter, and I get why. When I went through the trailer shot by shot, though, what stood out was how little the walls matter. Lecter needs you to walk up to his glass. Jurek talks to Saga through the plumbing, and the trailer keeps cutting to her holding her head. I also go through what comes from which book: the missing poster for Felicia and Michael Frost, the Riverside badge on Rory Culkin's uniform, the scratched writing on the padded cell walls and on the title card, and why the first episode is reportedly called Lazarus, Come Forth.
