Welcome back to the old village house! My grandmother is away abroad, so I've taken over looking after her cozy place, keeping up with the chores, and maintaining the homestead. Today, I’m tackling a serious challenge around the yard. The grass and weeds near the house have grown quite high, and while my grandmother has an old-school hand scythe, I decided it was time to step up to something much more powerful—a gas trimmer. Safety first! I strapped on my rubber boots, tied a cozy headscarf, put on my safety glasses, and clipped into the harness. To my surprise, the trimmer started right up on the very first pull. Since this was my first time ever operating one, it felt heavy, unusual, and physically exhausting, but giving up is never an option when there’s a homestead to care for. As I worked, learning the ropes as I went, grass and wild weeds flew in every direction. I pushed through, clearing the space right by the house, down toward the old cellar, and near the barn. By the time I finished, late evening had set in. The air was cool and crisp, my cheeks were rosy from the effort, and the trimmer finally ran out of gas right as I completed the main tasks. Sitting down on the wooden bench by the porch with a cool glass of water, utterly exhausted yet deeply satisfied, I looked out over the neatened yard. This old wooden-log house has a magic all its own, and keeping it tidy brings me so much peace. ✨ Support the channel and help me maintain the homestead:    / @oldhomewhispers   ✨ Subscribe to Old Home Whispers:    / @oldhomewhispers   #VillageLife #Homesteading #CountryLiving #RuralChores #CountryHouse #StringTrimmer
