These stunning temples are a short drive from Yogakarta in Indonesia. Borobudur is a buddhist temple which highlights in motifs and in the design of the temple itself the ascension to enlightenment. Prambanan is Indonesia’s largest Hindu temple complex. Both of these awe inspiring sites date back to the 9th century! Unbelievable! It was absolutely wonderful to spend time in these holy places. I felt a bit rushed at Borobudur as you could only visit for ten minutes on your own without a guide, and at Prambanan, we were racing the weather as a huge raincloud was chasing us.
