New Orleans -- St. Charles Streetcar Scenes - 2013

This presentation features extensive scenes of the St. Charles Streetcar between Downtown and Jefferson Avenue. Note: the line beyond Jefferson Avenue was not in service due to track reconstruction. Enjoy the signs and sounds of these lovely, almost century-old Perley Thomas streetcars (built 1923-24) , with each car operating on the line being a historic landmark. This line is reported as being the oldest continuously operating streetcar route in the world, having opened in 1835, with the line being electrified in 1893.
