Which fruit is best for your eyes after 60? In this video, I compare 4 evening fruits for eye health, and show you the one with a real clinical study behind it. In a small clinical trial, adults who ate a handful of one fruit for 90 days had a measurable rise in the protective pigment at the center of the retina. A lutein and zeaxanthin supplement did not show the same change. In this video, I explain what that study did and did not prove, and how to use the fruit safely. IN THIS VIDEO How your eye's built-in shield (macular pigment) works Tart cherries: helpful for sleep, with little eye evidence Kiwi: vitamin C and an easy evening habit Papaya: a gentle source of vitamin A Mulberries: promising lab research, not yet proven in people Goji berries: the only fruit with a real human trial for macular pigment How much to eat, and the three most common mistakes Who should talk to a doctor first, including people who take blood thinners 3 eye myths, including carrots and supplements Warning signs that need an eye doctor right away 3 questions to ask at your next eye appointment Tell me in the comments where you are watching from and how old you are, and subscribe so you don't miss the next video. I read every comment and reply to each one. IMPORTANT No fruit cures or reverses eye disease. These effects build slowly, over weeks and months. If you take warfarin or another blood thinner, have diabetes, or have a food or sulfite allergy, talk to your doctor before adding goji berries or dried fruit. If you notice wavy lines, a dark spot in the center of your vision, or sudden vision changes, see an eye doctor right away. For sudden vision loss or stroke symptoms, call your local emergency number. MEDICAL DISCLAIMER This video is for education only and is not medical advice.
