2005 Suzuki Savage 650 Bobber. Revival time! A friend of mine brought me this bike that his 'mechanic' friends refused to fix. It's been neglected for nearly a decade. I get it running, perform some much needed maintenance, fix a few dents, and deliver it to a happy customer. A note on the chain tensioner: These things are notorious for the tensioner over-extending and wreaking havoc on the engine. The correct fix isn't a fix, it's a 15,000 mile interval service - you pull the head and replace the cam chain and cam chain guides. You then reset the tensioner. My 'fix' was a bandage at best. a 20mm extension is welded to the stock tensioner and a new hole is drilled. This buys you about 10,000 miles before the actual maintenance needs to be done. If Moe puts another 10,000 miles on this bike, we'll do that work together over a few beers. Thanks for watching.
