Welcome back to the FJ1200 restoration video series. What does it take to get a non-running classic sportbike back on the road? In this sixth video, we'll be fine tuning the carburation and handling on the FJ1200. Though I've been able to put about 500 miles on the FJ since I got it running, it's time to go back in and continue refining this project. Often, my projects get completed in several steps with extended ride sessions in between. This process ensures that they run 100% by the time I complete them.
With massive mid-range and an awesome top-end punch, the FJ1200 was certainly fast in a straight line. But one ride will tell you - the FJ1200 is no one trick pony. It is a comfortable and competent sport touring icon. Let's check it out!
