Railfanning Shortlines in Monroe and Lenawee Counties Michigan 2019

Shortlines are very unique to railfans in many ways. They have power you don't typically see on large railroads such as BNSF or NS. They have cool horns and some can have unique paint schemes. Here in Michigan we have 22 freight shortlines and featured in this video are two shortlines near the border of Michigan/Ohio. The Ann Arbor Railroad and the Indiana and Ohio Railroad. The Ann Arbor Railroad runs from Toledo Ohio to Osmer Michigan which is just north of Ann Arbor running little over 50 miles. The Indiana and Ohio railroad is the former Detroit Toledo and Ironton trackage which runs out of Flat Rock MI down to parts of southern Ohio. The Ann Arbor Railroad can be seen about everyday of the week with their NB and SB Road Train. But the Indiana and Ohio runs through Michigan only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with two trains running to and from Flat Rock. Shot over the late spring and into mid summer. Since I was out of school. I decided to chase and tour the lines. This is also very close to my 2nd house which made it very easy. Enjoy the video!
