Trains in Michigan Mid July 2026 FT CN OCS, GLC Chase and LSRC Chase

in Mid July, my family and I did our annual up north and I made my pit stop in Durand to see trains. Sadly for me and the railfans I got together CN was having a massive workblock out near Lansing so it was rather slower day. Anyways, we did see the CN Office car special heading back to Canada and the shortlines ran as well. It started to really pick up at around 430 ish in the afternoon. Anyways after that, I also did a small chase of the Lake State train that now heads to Flint instead of Bay City out of Alpena. Notice the big six axle locomotives now on the Huron Sub, for years they have worked on getting the track rehabbed so the bigger locomotives can traverse the Huron Sub. I chased it between Alpena MI and Ossineke MI. Anyways enjoy the video! I chased it to Cohoctah MI Train 4: Westbound Canadian National Road local train R942 uses the high wye to access Durand Yard Train 5: Eastbound Canadian National Auto Rack train E276 heads for Montreal QC Train 6: Eastbound Canadian National Road local train R942 returns to Flint MI Train 7: Southbound Huron and Eastern train comes from Bay City to work Durand Yard Train 8: Westbound Canadain National mixed freight train M399 heads for Chicago IL with a citirail leading Train 9: Westbound Canadian National road local train L508 heads for Flat Rock MI Train 10: Westbound Canadian National mixed freight train E251 heads for Battle Creek MI Train 11: Eastbound Canadian National mixed freight train M302 heads for Toronto ON Train 12: Eastbound Canadian National mixed freight train M396 makes a stop at CP Vernon just west of town Location Alpena to Ossineke MI Train 13: Southbound Lake State Railway train 326 with the big SD70Ms heads for Flint MI
