Two car YouTubers, one company. Engineering Explained leased a new 2025 Lucid Air in 2025; by May 2026 Lucid had bought it back. Rich Rebuilds bought a wrecked Air for $4,100 in July 2026, Lucid's lawyers got in touch, and he showed Lucid's emails about a second owner's salvage car: a mandatory 187.2-hour reshell. Lucid's own words (its emails and its Aug 19 statement on third-party repair, as shown by Rich Rebuilds) and its own SEC filings, in order. Who's allowed to fix a Lucid? We emailed Lucid's media team on Oct 17, 2026 with six questions. If they reply, the reply goes up in full as a Short on this channel and is linked here. A note on the auction prices: the two sales shown in Rich Rebuilds' July 26 video ($8,000 and $6,500, Copart) were salvage-title cars sold in May 2025 and May 2026, before the July 14, 2026 bankruptcy rumor. The second owner in Rich Rebuilds' videos is a private person and is not named here. Lucid employees' names are blacked out. Corrections None yet.
