I share why discernment is one of the most underrated skills we can build in motherhood and business: learning to separate what’s truly necessary and emotionally aligned from what’s driven by fear, anxiety, habit, or expectation. I talk about how discernment shows up most clearly in the mental load, and how what we carry isn’t only about what needs to be done, but also what we automatically take responsibility for—often tied to old patterns like over-functioning, people-pleasing, avoiding asking for help, or needing control. I explain how seeing these patterns helps us redistribute responsibility, set clearer boundaries, reduce resentment, and create healthier family dynamics while also strengthening our leadership and decision-making in business. I end with a simple three-day practice: Pause, Separate, Choose.
