"परिष्कृति २०२६" (Parishkruti 2026)
"महालक्ष्मी अष्टक" (Mahalakshmi Ashtak)
Shree Kalika Nrutyalaya presents 'Mahalakshmi Ashtak' in the very first program of Parishkruti on 6th September 2026 at Pune.
Navratri is one of India’s most vibrant, energetic, and spiritually profound festivals. Spanning nine nights and ten days, it is a magnificent celebration of the divine feminine energy—Shakti—embodied by the Goddess Durga. The festival symbolizes the ultimate victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.
Beyond the fasting, feasts, and folklore, Navratri holds a deep psychological and spiritual significance. The nine nights represent a journey inward to conquer our inner demons—such as ego, greed, anger, jealousy, and attachments.
Fasting (Vrat) is practiced not just to cleanse the physical body, but to discipline the mind and sharpen focus. It is a time to pause the chaos of daily life, look inward, and recharge our spiritual reservoirs.
After clearing away inner chaos and fears with Durga's fierce energy during the first three days, the heart and mind open up to receive Lakshmi’s gentle, life-giving radiance.
While Goddess Lakshmi is widely known as the bestower of material wealth, money, and fortune, her worship during Navratri encompasses eight or more forms of abundance (Ashta Lakshmi), including knowledge (Vidya Lakshmi), health and food (Dhanya Lakshmi), courage (Dhairya Lakshmi), and progeny/creativity (Santana Lakshmi).
Lakshmi is depicted with four hands representing the four goals of human life: Dharma (righteous duty), Artha (prosperity/means), Kama (pleasure/love), and Moksha (spiritual liberation). Her phase in Navratri teaches devotees how to use material and inner resources ethically and with a generous heart.
Good will always triumph, and the divine light within us will always have the power to dispel the shadows.
Wishing you a blessed, joyful, and spiritually uplifting Navratri! May the Goddess empower your life with strength, peace, and prosperity.
