In this video, we revisit a customer's terrace garden in Madhavaram, Chennai, which Greenland Nursery designed and set up two years ago. This garden is now growing a wide variety of fruit trees, vegetables, greens and creepers. From Banana Sapota, Thai Lemon and Pomegranate to grafted Brinjal, Malaysian Ivy Gourd and different leafy vegetables, this terrace garden shows how much can be achieved with the right setup and consistent care. The garden includes: Banana Sapota and Thai King Sapota Thai Lemon and Varian Sweet Lime Guava, Pomegranate and Fig Grafted Brinjal that has been maintained for around one and a half years Malaysian Ivy Gourd and different leafy vegetables Drumstick and several other fruit plants One of the most interesting parts of this garden is the grafted Brinjal plant. Unlike ordinary seasonal brinjal plants, this grafted plant can continue producing for a longer period under suitable growing conditions. The garden also demonstrates how vertical layering can help make better use of limited terrace space while providing some shade and helping retain moisture. A proper terrace garden starts with the basics: suitable containers, stable stands, drainage, a good soil mix and regular maintenance. Suitable for home and terrace gardening, even when space is limited.
