How do you restore an older BMW X6 without wasting money on repairs it doesn’t actually need?
This 2014 BMW X6 had about 87,000 miles, but years of use had created a long list of problems. The owner wanted a complete inspection so we could identify the real failures and build a repair plan based on actual evidence instead of guessing.
We found heavy carbon buildup, excessive oil consumption, oil leaks, worn suspension bushings, leaking shocks and problems with the air suspension system. The compressor was slowly losing pressure, which eventually caused the suspension to sag.
Instead of replacing everything blindly, we cleaned, tested and inspected the components one by one. OEM replacement parts were used where necessary, and every repair was followed by proper testing.
After the mechanical work, the X6 was taken on roughly 60–70 miles of road testing to make sure the repairs actually held up under real driving conditions.
The goal wasn’t to spend the most money.
It was to spend the money where the car truly needed it.
Would you repair this X6 or sell it?
