West Monkton - circular walk - quite fields - strange ruined building - footpaths - deer - woodland

Join me as I do a circular walk at West Monkton which is at the edge of the Quantock Hills , close to the M5 motorway and the county town of Taunton . West Monkton can trace its history back to 682AD when it belonged to the Abbot of Glastonbury . Along the way I come across 18th century stocks used for the public punishment of miscreants - a strange ruined building not shown on the map - dried up streams - large fields - wooded paths and much more .
