China made Pokémon games Nintendo never approved. This video covers 18 unlicensed, bootleg, and pirate Pokémon games made for the NES and Famicom by Chinese developers like Gamtec, Mars Production, Shenzhen Nanjing Technology, and Jncota, including original-engine platformers, minigame compilations, and full RPG backports of Pokémon Gold, Yellow, Crystal, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Platinum, Diamond, Pearl, and HeartGold/SoulSilver.
⚠️ Note on the games selected: The titles featured in this video are full pirate backports, original bootlegs, or unauthorized demakes. We are not covering basic sprite-swaps of other games (e.g., replacing Mario with Pikachu), regardless of whether they were distributed on physical multicarts.
From Pocket Monster's Pikachu platformer to entire unlicensed RPG demakes running on Famicom hardware, these bootleg cartridges reused stolen graphics, invented storylines, and reskinned each other under different official Pokémon names to sell as multicarts and standalone cartridges across mainland China.
