Trains and Ships Around Port Huron MI 7-30-2026 FT CSX YN2 chase and more

On Thursday July 30th 2026, me and a buddy did our annual Port Huron outing capturing CN, CSX trains and a couple freighters on the St Clair River. While action was not the busiest we still saw a good handful of trains and a couple interesting catches. The CSX Yn2 chase was by far my favorite as who knows how much longer we will have CSX Yn2s roaming around. It might be the final one I shoot in Michigan as well. CN runs around 20-24 trains a day through the famed tunnel into and from Canada meanwhile CSX is doing everything they can to withdrew from Michigan and they run around 1-2 trains a day. Anyways I hope you enjoy the video. I had to film one of the trains on my phone because I totally forgot to charge my camera the day before. I also apologized for not filming the whole train on some of these trains. I was charging my camera through my vehicle because I did not want to use my phone to film. Location Port Huron MI Train 1: Southbound Canadian National mixed freight train M383 heads for Toledo OH Train 2: Eastbound Canadian National mixed freight train M394 heads for Toronto ON Train 3: Westbound Canadian National mixed freight train M399 heads for Chicago IL Train 4: Northbound CSX road local train L306 heads for Flint MI and we will see blasting west pass an old GTW tri light signal west of town as we gave chase to it Train 5: Westbound Canadian National Auto Rack train E275 heads for Flint MI with a nice AC44C6M leading Two freighters are next spotted near the USA to Canada bridge Now back to the rails Train 6: Eastbound Canadian National L533 heads back to the yard in Port Huron with an SD70M-2 Train 7: Eastbound Canadian National mixed freight train M382 heads for Toronto ON with an SD75IACC leading Train 8: Eastbound Canadian National Auto Rack train E276 heads for Montreal QC Train 9: Southbound CSX local train L306 heads back to Marysville MI with small cut of cars Train 10: Northbound Canadian National Steel train U708 heads for Canada from the CSX in Toledo as AK Steel moved their plant from Dearborn to somewhere in Ontario. Canadian National took advantage of the traffic and we now have U708/U707 running on CN several times a week Train 11: Southbound Canadian National mixed freight train A485 heads for Flat Rock MI Train 12: Westbound Canadian National mixed freight train M397 heads for Gary IN with a fresh crew
