X Minus One - "The Outer Limit" (Old Time Radio, 1955)

X Minus One presents “The Outer Limit,” originally broadcast on NBC on November 16, 1955. This is episode 25, adapted by Ernest Kinoy from Graham Doar’s short story, with direction by Daniel Sutter. Set in the then-near future of 1965, the drama follows an experimental high-altitude rocket plane that disappears from radar during a brief test flight—then returns ten hours later. As officials confront the pilot’s astonishing account, the mission becomes a suspenseful warning with implications far beyond the test program. The cast includes Bob Hastings and Joe DeSantis. Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
