The defense panel of Vice President Sara Duterte will cross-examine Office of the Vice President (OVP) Assistant Chief of Staff Lemuel Ortonio on the alleged misuse of confidential funds on the 19th day of the impeachment trial. During the direct examination by House private prosecutor Atty. Mae Divinagracia yesterday, Ortonio confirmed that the P125 million in confidential funds allocated for the fourth quarter of 2022 was spent within 11 days. He also testified that he accompanied special disbursing officer Gina Acosta during the encashment of four checks amounting to P500 million.
