But on her first night inside the house, she found another door. Behind it was a room that did not exist on the plans. The next morning, the door was gone. That evening, it appeared in another corridor. And every time she opened it, something different waited beyond it. An abandoned glasshouse. A locked aviary. A silent ballroom. A dying garden. A chapel that had never been part of the estate. The rooms seemed to belong to different periods of the manor’s history. Then the thirteenth door appeared at the end of the main corridor. This time, she recognized what was behind it. It was her childhood bedroom. Exactly as she remembered it. On the bed rested the original floor plan of the manor. It no longer showed twelve rooms. There were thirteen. Her name had been written inside the last one. There Was One Room Too Many is a dark gothic classical journey through impossible architecture, abandoned rooms, fractured memory and a house whose interior refuses to obey its own walls. Rather than centering the album around a single object, the sequence treats each piece as another space inside the manor, gradually moving from aristocratic elegance toward increasingly strange, isolated and funereal environments. The selected archive combines intimate gothic chamber textures associated with fortepiano, harpsichord, viola da gamba, cello, restrained violin and darker low-register orchestral colors. Creative Process: This release was curated for Nocturne Symphony using recordings from the channel’s existing music archive. The recordings were previously created with AI-assisted music tools under the commercial-use rights associated with the subscription used at the time of generation. No new musical generation was created specifically for this release.
