We compared the original 3.6L Pentastar with the upgraded PUG to see which one makes more sense at 100,000 miles. The PUG brings stronger torque, better fuel economy, and a smoother drive, but adds complexity while keeping the familiar plastic oil housing leak. The original has its own early cylinder-head issue, yet later versions may be the better long-term buy.
