Pedagogical Talk | Cosmology from Home 2026 https://www.cosmologyfromhome.com/ Abstract: The direct detection of gravitational waves (GW) a decade ago using interferometers has heralded a new era in astronomy. I will discuss how GWs can be used for measurements of the expansion history of the Universe. I will present an introduction to the different observables that GWs can constrain. I will then demonstrate the different techniques that have been used to make independent measurements of the Hubble constant using GW events. I will also summarize the various challenges and the limitations of the current methods and how they can be improved once the next era GW detectors come online.
