Martina Gerbino – Learning about Particle Physics with Observations of the CMB

Pedagogical Talk | Cosmology from Home 2026 https://www.cosmologyfromhome.com/ Abstract: Observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) are one of the pillars of modern cosmology. The information carried by the CMB spans several cosmological epochs and are able to tell us about properties of the evolving Universe as well as of its particle content. In this talk, I will quickly review the CMB features that allow us to infer fundamental properties of particles. I will summarise the state of the art of current constraints on particle physics that emerge from current CMB observations, including observational and analysis challenges. I will conclude with a glance at what we expect from new and next generation experimental endeavours.
