"Saturday of the 27th Week in Ordinary Time, Luke 11:27-28

The True Happiness of Hearing and Keeping the Word of God Astonished by Jesus’ wonderful teachings, a woman praises the blessedness of the mother who gave Him birth and nursed Him. However, Jesus replies, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” This response does not diminish Mother Mary. Instead, it reveals her true greatness—she who spent her entire life saying "Yes" (Fiat) to God's will, treasuring His word in her heart and putting it into practice. Jesus makes it clear that worldly conditions or biological ties are not the measures of true happiness. The conditional happiness praised by the world is fleeting. In contrast, the spiritual joy of placing God’s word at the center of our lives remains unshaken. Today, let us reflect on whether we are listening to the word of the Lord before our own desires or the noise of the world. Even if it is not a grand gesture, when we translate a single small word of God into action in our daily lives, the true happiness promised by Jesus will abide within us.
