D 1086 Ventimiglia - Zürich

It's back to Italy. The D 1086 connected Ventimiglia, on the border between France and Italy, with Zurich. On the Italian section of the route, it ran for several kilometers along the Ligurian coast. We show this train on precisely this section, hauled by an FS E 636 210 locomotive from the Alessandria depot. The rolling stock, which also includes two SBB couchette cars, suggests that the train ran at least part of the journey at night. From Chiasso onwards, an SBB Re 6/6 locomotive usually took over the train. Around 1992/1993, beginning of Era V.
