Train: South Western Railway Service: Station Announcements Location: London Waterloo Station Date: 06/08/2026 Today’s video features a collection of 32 station announcements recorded at London Waterloo, featuring South Western Railway services alongside passenger information, British Transport Police messages and Transport for London travel updates. 🚆🔊🇬🇧 London Waterloo is one of Britain’s most important railway termini and is the largest station in Great Britain by number of National Rail platforms, with 24 platforms in the main station. It is the London terminus for a huge range of South Western Railway services heading towards southwest London and destinations across Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Dorset and beyond. That’s why this announcement collection has quite a variety of destinations despite all the trains being operated by South Western Railway. Services featured include trains to Salisbury, Portsmouth Harbour, Shepperton, Windsor & Eton Riverside, Weymouth, Hampton Court, Basingstoke, Chessington South, Reading, Woking and Southampton Central. And then there’s announcement number 10… 😄 The 15:35 to Weymouth via Winchester and Poole via Winchester certainly doesn’t waste any time getting into a long announcement! It appears again at number 14 too, just in case once wasn’t enough. There are also several non-train announcements in the recording. These include British Transport Police security information, a reminder to buy a ticket before boarding, information about planned engineering works and advice to carry water during hot weather. There are also TfL travel updates warning passengers about severe delays on the Central Line. A quick apology as well for some of the background noise that I made during parts of the recording. Waterloo is already a very busy and noisy station, and unfortunately some additional noise from me can be heard in places. I’ve kept the footage in because the announcements themselves are still worth including. Euston featured several operators, whereas Waterloo is overwhelmingly dominated by South Western Railway, but the sheer number of routes and destinations still creates plenty of announcement variety.
