Docklands Light Railway (DLR) journey Poplar to Tower Gateway 🚊 | 03/08/2026

Train: Docklands Light Railway (DLR) B07 Stock – Unit 147 Service: Beckton – Tower Gateway Line: Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Date: 03/08/2026 Today’s video features another journey on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), this time aboard B07 Stock Unit 147, travelling from Poplar to Tower Gateway. 🚆🇬🇧 The train is operating the 21:13 service from Beckton to Tower Gateway, with my journey beginning at Poplar at 21:33 for the final section into central London. The video starts with Unit 147 arriving at Poplar, displaying Tower Gateway as its destination. After boarding, we depart Poplar at 21:33 and begin the journey west towards Tower Gateway. Our first stop is Westferry, followed by Limehouse and then Shadwell. After leaving Shadwell, the train continues along the final section of the DLR towards Tower Gateway, where the journey terminates. Travelling on the DLR provides a very different experience from the London Underground. Much of the network runs above ground or on elevated sections, and its automated operation means passengers can get excellent views from the ends of the train. This journey is effectively the opposite direction to my Tower Gateway → Poplar DLR journey, although this time the train is B07 Stock Unit 147 rather than the B92 Stock formation featured in the other video. The full service started at Beckton at 21:13 and called at Gallions Reach, Cyprus, Beckton Park, Royal Albert, Prince Regent, Custom House, Royal Victoria, Canning Town, East India and Blackwall before reaching Poplar.
