This month’s birthday card is inspired by October, autumn, and a little bit of Halloween. 🎃🍂 I wanted to keep this card simple, playful, and something that anyone could have fun trying. I started with a very light orange watercolour-pencil sketch to help me keep the pumpkins smaller, then used watercolour to build up the shapes, colour and texture. I also used my alphabet stamps for the “Happy Birthday” message, which has quickly become one of my favourite ways to add lettering to these cards. The pumpkins ended up becoming a little autumn scene, with their stems and leaves winding around the birthday message. I hope this little card inspires you to make something simple for someone you love. You don't need a complicated design to make a handmade card feel special. What would you put on an October birthday card: pumpkins, autumn leaves, something spooky, or something completely different? Thank you for spending a little creative time with me. Remember to pause, practice and play every day✨ ✏️ Materials • Winsor & Newton Watercolour Pad, 5 × 7 in (12.7 × 17.8 cm), 300 GSM • Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolours: • Cadmium Red • Burnt Umber • Burnt Sienna • Viridian Green • Cadmium Yellow • Payne’s Gray • Lion Matiz Round Brush #10 • Staedtler Noris Club Aquarell Watercolour Pencils, selected colours • Timbre Alphabet Rubber Stamp Set, 26 pieces • Water, paper towel & spray bottle 🎵 Music YouTube Audio Library #PumpkinArt #BirthdayCard #HandmadeCard #MixedMediaArt #AutumnArt #ArtProcess #TraditionalArt #CreativePractice #slowart
