After mapping joystick(s) start game to lock in settings. To preserve settings: Plug in joysticks BEFORE entering MAME and unplug AFTER exiting MAME. GAME OPTIONS (For MAME 235) After mapping Pilot joystick you can navigate the Service Menu. Start game. Press P to pause game (optional). Press Tab and select "Dip Switches" with arrow keys, press Enter, select "Service Mode" and press right arrow to turn "on". Tab to close menu. When done making changes - press Tab to open "Dip Switches" menu and press left arrow to turn "off" and then "return to previous menu" press Enter and Tab to close main menu, or "Return to machine" and press Enter. Use X & Y axis to make selections and change values, Trigger button to enter sub menus, and Trigger & Nuke (Thumb) buttons together to save and close sub menu. The most useful changes are in "GAME OPTIONS" - Game difficulty, attract music frequency, and Station color.
