Remove the cap sheet and the liner slowly, because the liner produces static that will absorb particles from the ground, which could potentially stick to the adhesive side. Managing Stretch: The film will stretch up to 15%, but try to avoid reaching the limits of the film. Lock the film on the high points first, then pull and extend your hands up and down to lock the film on the outside of the installation area. Squeegee Techniques: Use a flexible squeegee to fan around compound shapes and high points. When tucking film into grooves, make your first pass with the buffer and a second pass with the hard edge of the squeegee to tuck more film in. At the end, use the hard edge of the squeegee to activate adhesion by putting pressure on the adhesive. Trimming: Because the film shares properties with PPF, you can either cut through the film or score and tear the film. Before cutting, always extend and snap the blade. Lightly score and tear the top to avoid cutting the clear coat of the paint, but cut through at the bottom if dealing with a really tight gasket. Every time you make a cut, try to get level with that cut. Finishing: Before post-heating, hit the edges with heat to make the film relax around the perimeter.
