In this video, we join young nomadic women as they venture into the pristine, spectacular wilderness of the Zagros Mountains—a place defined by natural springs and the wild, rushing waters of the Khersan River, where nomadic life remains deeply intertwined with simplicity, hard work, and nature itself. 🌄🐑 As the sun rises beautifully over the peaks of the Zagros, the day begins for these young women with the care of their flock. They milk the sheep and feed the young goats, preparing the animals for the day ahead in the mountains. Soon, the flock heads out toward the Zagros slopes to spend the day grazing in the wild. Fatemeh lights a fire and bakes fresh, traditional nomadic flatbread using wheat flour. With the fresh sheep's milk ready, the young women enjoy a simple, natural breakfast by the banks of the Khersan River—a meal that truly captures the essence of authentic nomadic life. 🫓🥛 Later, Zeinab gathers oak leaves to feed the sheep. The young women then head to the rushing Khersan River, where they make use of the water and cast fishing nets, hoping to make a catch. 🎣🌊 Throughout all these tasks, caring for their animals remains an integral part of their daily routine; they provide food and water, living side-by-side with their sheep, dogs, and other animals.
