The Kevin Paul Show | Ep. 199 The controversy surrounding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has given the CJP cockroaches another opportunity to take to the streets, complete with revolutionary slogans, righteous indignation, and the familiar theatrics of political outrage. In a democracy where accusations can be challenged, institutions can be questioned, and constitutional remedies remain available, the spectacle of perpetual agitation is a totally unwarranted drama. I take a critical look at the romanticisation of protest, the self-importance of modern-day revolutionaries, and the peculiar political culture in which outrage is mistaken for courage and disruption for achievement. From the revolutionary fantasies of the past to the protest politics of the present, let's look at how rebellion can become an identity, slogans can masquerade as arguments, and the performance of resistance can become more important than the cause itself.
