THE WATERFALL CHASE CONTINUES | PART 2
Our waterfall chase continues through the beautiful landscapes of Ratnapura.
Our first stop is Mapalana Ella. Surrounded by lush greenery and medicinal plants, this magnificent waterfall was fully active after the heavy rainfall. The sound of powerful water, crystal clear streams and the rainforest atmosphere made this place feel like a little paradise.
From there, we continued along the Wewalwatta route to Hal Ella, a beautiful waterfall with two streams flowing over the rocks. Just a short distance away, we discovered Dehena Ella, also known locally as Gaslabu Ella. Every stop revealed something different, and the journey was becoming more beautiful with every passing moment.
After exploring these waterfalls, we found a beautiful spot to enjoy a refreshing dip and have our lunch. But nature had other plans. Heavy rain began to fall, and soon the whole atmosphere changed. The air felt cooler and fresher, and mist started to settle over the mountains.
Driving through tea plantations, with mountain ranges stretching alongside the road, was an experience of its own. Sometimes, the journey between destinations becomes just as memorable as the places we visit.
Our next mission was to find Beruwatte Ella.
A small footpath led us towards the waterfall, hidden among the tea plantations and lush mountain greenery. When we arrived, the waterfall was flowing beautifully, with white water cascading down the rocks.
We spent some time enjoying the surroundings, but the water level began to rise as rain continued in the mountains above us. We knew it was time to leave. Waterfalls can change very quickly during heavy rain, and safety must always come first.
As we made our way back, mist began to cover the landscape. The mountains, tea plantations and flowing water took on a completely different atmosphere. It was one of those moments when you simply stop and appreciate the beauty around you.
We ended the day surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the mountains, carrying another collection of unforgettable memories from our waterfall chase.
But our journey is not over yet. Tomorrow brings another adventure, with more places to discover and more stories to share.
I hope you enjoy travelling with me through these beautiful parts of Sri Lanka.
Until the next video..,
Greetings,
I am Dinesh.
